Maria is a trained psychotherapist, shamanic practitioner and qualified yoga teacher.

Maria spent 12 years working as a Resettlement worker and manager and trauma specialist for a Women’s refuge. Over this time she also worked with children, teenagers and adult survivors of sexual abuse for First Light, Child and Young People's bereavement charity Penhaligon's Friends.
